U = Unplug
Have you wanted more from your life and been unable to get results, momentum or traction towards those goals? The chaos that surrounds us can interfere with positive progress.
Look around and see the chaos that exists. Listen to the chaos that surrounds you. The phones buzzing and ringing, the news chatter, the people complaining around you, the constant bombardment of e mails, traffic noise, etc. Often, we are around the chaos on such a constant basis that we don’t even recognize that it is there. Sit quietly for a few minutes and concentrate on the different sights, sounds, and feelings that bombard your senses on a regular basis.
The chaos feeds the resistance in your mind that is preventing you from getting what you desire. Resistance can manifest as fear, anxiety, procrastination, anger, frustration, etc. These emotions cause an avalanche response of incorrect or no activity, which results in continuing to get what you currently have rather than moving you in the direction you truly desire. This is all done on a subconscious level. You may consciously want to change what you are doing and saying, but the resistance within your mind puts up a roadblock.
Seeing, feeling, and hearing the chaos allows you to start unplugging from it. The first step is being aware that there is chaos and the second step is unplugging from it on a regular basis.
When you unplug from the chaos, it reduces the stimulus that feeds the resistance that is stopping you from getting what you want in life.
What does un-plugging look, feel and sound like to you?
When we can quiet our minds, we allow the universe to unfold, to open and deliver resources in the form of people, books, events, messages, and many other forms of offerings that help us make progress in a rapid way. This happens when you have the courage to do something different and unplug, when the rest of the world is telling you to stay plugged in nonstop. Unplugging allows you to take inspiring steps daily towards what you want. When we stop plugging in, and we allow our mind, body, and spirit to take a pause and enjoy the world around us, it elevates our creative processes and new things start happening.
“If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”
Jim Rohn
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Elizabeth Appel
These quotes guide me in many ways. First bringing awareness to doing new things daily, facing fears, releasing blocks and understanding the resistance in our lives. This gives us the opportunity to take 100 % responsibility for our lives so we can change anything we want in our lives. Yes. Unplug from the ordinary and start the unusual. Beginning your journey to your Unstoppable Mindset that will propel you to your next level of success. What does this look like?
Tips For Better Mental Clarity
Pick up a book that will help your creative process. My shameless suggestion is “The Unstoppable Mindset for Health: How to have abundant vitality daily the natural way.” There is a long list of empowering, positive books to read.
Instead of news start watching inspiring videos, speeches, movies or music videos with lyrics on the screen that lift you into another time and space.
Pick one day a week to keep your phone off and be completely free of electronics. Start with a few hours if this seems too daunting to start with.
Turn off social media alerts. Go to social media sites infrequently and when you desire it, not every time someone posts something.
Have a separate phone for work and for personal use. This way you can have leisure time without seeing the work messages or calls.
Remove yourself from the association with toxic people. If you feel good around people, hang around them. If you don’t feel good around certain people, avoid contact with them if possible.
Create a quiet place in your home that allows for you to properly unplug and relax.
Think of things that you can do to unplug from the chaos in your life. Take a moment right now and write 3-5 things that you can do to unplug on a regular basis. Start by doing at least one of those each day.
It may feel awkward at first, as all things do, until you start to form powerful habits that change your life in a very powerful way. You will be amazed at the positive impact that unplugging on a regular basis will do for your life. It is the small daily habits that create the life that you want.
As a Life Coach, I am here for you to answer your questions, hold you accountable and work with you every step of the way to achieving your Unstoppable Mindset.
